Happy New Year!!! From Praytor
Realty

NOVEMBER 2011 HOUSING NUMBERS REVISED
HUGE REVISION UPWARD!!!!
-
286 homes sold
in November WERE REVISED UPWARD TO 363 versus 369 October – Nearly flat
compared to the 25% drop previously reported!
-
Average home prices
for November WERE REVISED TO AN AVERAGE PRICE OF $129,766 versus $128,416
previously reported compared to $131,516 in October – down just 1 %
versus 2%. Average sales price for 2010 was $150,845.00.
-
NO CHANGE The time
it takes to sell a home fell to 101 days in November versus 109 in October.
Average time for 2010 was 100 days. Up 1%
-
NO CHANGE Pending
home sales fell to 353 in November compared to 439 homes in November.
Down 20%!
-
Supply of available inventory WAS REVISED TO
12.28 months versus 15.25 months reported in November versus 12.34 months in
October. Average supply for 2010 was 14.28 months. Total houses on market
fell again to 4,363.
REVISION-The
statistical function used by Solid Earth (MLS provider to Mobile Association of
Realtors) had a computer glitch and simply quit counting sold homes in late
November. The numbers previously reported were missing the last 77 homes sold
during November. “Needless to
say the revision in homes sold up to 363 is a game changer and a big enough
event to warrant a revised November Housing Report. Our original November Report
said we were shocked by the lack of sales in November, now we know why. Very
rarely has our unofficial polling of Realtors, Title Companies, Mortgage
originators and Builders let us down. Once again these folks were right on the
money. November 2011 out performed November 2010 and the prevailing sentiment
from our unofficial polling is still positive. We will be reporting December
sales next week and while we expect some seasonal fall off, the early indication
is for sales to be solid to round out the end of the year. I appreciate the
Associations staff and Solid Earth working so quickly to rectify the problem
with the statistics. I believe we have the proper safeguards in place so it will
not happen again.” Tommy Praytor, President Praytor Realty

Praytor Realty Has Lost An Icon- Sullins Arendall

On Friday September 30th Sullins Arendall lost her Herculean
battle with cancer. “The world has lost a bright light. We were all rooting for
Sullins, she not only overcame but endured her battle with cancer with such
grace and courage that I always felt no matter how grave the prognosis was she
would beat it,” said Tommy Praytor. “With 33 years at Praytor Realty, Sullins
leads every sales category at the company, she was in a league all her own. Not
only was she a great sales person but she was a friend and a mentor. During
Mom’s illness and after her passing Sullins was a rock we all leaned on.
Comfortably retired she dusted off her list of contacts and went back to work to
help keep Praytor Realty moving in the right direction. She was simply the best.
Our hearts go out to Tommy, Sullins, John and all of her family.”
The Flag at Praytor Realty has been lowered to half-mast and will remain there
this week to honor Sullins.
We published the following to celebrate Sullins 30th Anniversary with
Praytor Realty in 2009.
As Praytor Realty closes in on our 35th anniversary in August, Sullins Arendall
will also reach a personal milestone. Sullins will celebrate her 30th year at
Praytor Realty. In 30 years a lot has changed but Sullins warmth and caring for
the people she works with has not. Over the years Sullins has sold more homes
than any other sales person at Praytor Realty. To this day she can take you by
each one, tell you when they bought, how much they paid and more importantly why
they bought it. For Sullins, the last 30 years in the real estate business has
not been about houses it’s been about the people who live in them. On behalf of
all the people you’ve helped with their homes and those of us who have been
fortunate enough to work with you and call you our friend, congratulations on 30
fabulous years, Tommy Praytor
For
Sullins it was always about the people.
