Buz Rummel
Buz offers a diversity of experience and insights to Praytor Realty clients. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, he spent 12 years in the newspaper business, winning numerous state and national awards while writing and reporting for the Miami News, the St. Petersburg Times, Congressional Quarterly and other newspapers. He left journalism for government and politics, running campaigns for governor of Florida, the U.S. House of Representatives, and U.S. Senate, and serving in Florida Government positions including Assistant Secretary of Commerce, Assistant Insurance Commissioner and Assistant Banking Commissioner. He served five years as a senior vice president of Florida Federal Savings and Loan Association, then the 8th largest S&L in the U.S., directing stockholder relations and public relations as a special assistant to the chief executive officer. Buz went into the real estate business in the difficult period of the mid-1980s, founding his own real estate brokerage and construction company, and acquiring, rehabbing and selling waterfront condominium communities around Tampa Bay. He bought, rehabbed and sold approximately 400 luxury condominium residences. In Mobile in the early 1990s he began acquiring historic, restoring and managing historic apartment properties, including Summerville Court, Windsor Warwick and Azalea Court Apartments, approximately 350 total units. Buz joined Praytor Realty in 2011 as a sales and listing agent focusing his energies on condominium properties and historic homes. |
